This blog intends to make visible the body of knowledge that is currently being built up to defend the rights of peasants, male and female. It is a space to gather different types of resource materials such as: our own declarations, documents and studies claiming our rights; existing constitutional rights, national laws and policies upholding our rights; rulings of courts protecting our rights; legal expert opinions and academic works making the case for our rights; and UN treaties, declarations, principles and guidelines recognizing our rights.
All materials will be published in their original language and can be used as long as the source is mentioned. We hope that these materials will be useful for grassroots and social organizations, NGOs, scholars and journalists, for the defense of peasants’ rights on the ground, as well as for legislative and policy making processes at national and international level. This blog is hosted by La Via Campesina, FIAN-International and CETIM.
